Castor oil is 90% Ricinoleic acid, which is a very special kind of unsaturated fat that is beneficial for so many things. Many of you may remember how your grand parents made sure to always have it around the house.
As seen at the clinical study here, castor oil has ant-inflammatory and pain-reducing properties. Many people rub it in to their joints to help alleviate pain, sore muscles, and others use it to help alleviate menstrual cramps. It’s Anti-fungal and Anti-microbial, and it’s really good for your immune system. Therefore, some people put it on their psoriasis.
The Ricinoleic Acid in the castor oil can be used to moisturize skin, because they act as humectants, which retain moisture by preventing water loss through the outer layer of the skin.
