Hey Everyone!
We just made
another batch of Angela’s Salve!
I personally use this salve every single night before I go to bed.
I first put it on the back sides of each hand. I then rub it into my hands. Next, I put some on my forehead and cheeks. I then rub that all in all over my face.
Due to the condition that I have, and the meds that I am on, I tend to wash my hands way more now than ever
before. I go to the bathroom more often than the typical person, and I am also on immunosuppressants. Therefore, I’m just more cautious and wash my hands pretty frequently.
The salve keeps my hands very soft and supple. When I go on my walks, I sometimes don’t wear a hat so I may burn on my face a bit. This salve is notorious for healing sunburns as you will see below.
What’s cool is that I put it on right before I
go to bed. Since it’s oil based, it just soaks into my skin over night, which produces a healing and rejuvenating effect.
On this batch that we just made, we used the rest of the Matico that we had left. Since we are going back to Ecuador for seven weeks at the end of January, I am hoping to bring back more Matico in March on our way back home.
The Matico is the main medicinal plant ingredient in this salve, which
was picked straight from the ground in Vilcabamba, Ecuador. We had Angela’s friend personally harvest the Matico, and dehydrate it in an excalibur dehydrator.
The locals use this highly medicinal plant to help themselves with all sorts of ailments. When we lived in Vilcabamba, Angela was very observant and noticed how our workers would continually use the Matico in many different kinds of situations. They would use it for skin conditions,
would healing, colds and flu, reducing inflammation, vomiting, fever, menstrual cramps, and so much more.
The locals would sometimes put the Matico leaves in hot water for 10 minutes and would apply it to the skin, and sometimes they would make it into a tea. The locals offered us these special remedies many times when we were in need of them. For example, there were many times where I was just sitting there with a health issue, and our
house keeper would just bring me a poultice of Matico, or the tea depending what my issue was.
So, Angela was just getting on with her days, and at some point she started learning how to make salves online. She then got the idea to make salves and put the Matico directly into the salve. I didn’t think anything of it. I simply thought it was just a new hobby making typical skin cream salves. She then started selling them in town at all of
the local shops.
At first I thought it was just a "coincidence" when a person told me that they used this salve to heal a rash on the inside of their leg. They stated that whenever they get a rash like this, it would usually take weeks to heal. However, the salve started the healing process immediately. Whenever I went into town, more and more people would randomly come up to me on the street raving about how Angela's salve helped
them in some way. Some people would even buy 12 at a time to stock up as they said they couldn't live without them.
Angela became a busy bee making this stuff. The refrigerator would be stuffed with these jars, as she waited for the final mixture to set.
So I finally realized that these salves were the real deal, and I started using it myself. There were times when I would get a really bad sunburn on my face, and it was scary how
red it was. I would apply the skin salve to my face, and the very next day the redness was practically gone. My skin actually looked super healthy, and all my worries disappeared. In fact, one woman sent me before and after pictures of her sunburn, and how the salve helped her skin in the same way. I could actually feel the medicinal plants going to work on my sunburnt face. It kind of burned like a menthol cooling feel, because
my skin was damaged. It was so soothing.
People use this Salve to help with all kinds of skin issues, such as stings, bruises, bites, cuts, scratches, knocks, sunburns, rashes (including diaper rash), and even just to moisturize! We’ve also gotten testimonials beyond skin issues helping with all sorts of interesting things such as arthritis. Recently, two customers of ours both healed from Vaginal Lichen Schlerosus with Angela's Salve.
I'll share the testimonials this weekend.
So what goes into the magical salve mixture?
Obviously the Matico. The other two plants that she uses are comfrey and plantain. In addition to that she includes the following ingredients to make the salve base; olive oil, cacao butter, rosemary, and lavender essential oils. That's everything! Super-simple ingredients, yet super-effective for skin healing. All of the ingredients that we buy
from the store, such as the essential oils, cacao butter, and Olive Oil are all certified organic.
Comfrey and plantain are well-known skin helpers that have been used by herbalists worldwide for centuries. (Angela says, this is the green plantain leafy plant that grows all over on people's lawns, and it has nothing to do with bananas. In case you were wondering.)
So I asked Angela, why does she think her salve is so effective, because I
have seen no other product on the market that works as well as this. It even helped one woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
She said, It's oil based and not water based. Therefore, the active ingredients get to sink into the skin, they sit there for a while, and they don’t just wipe off. Additionally, it creates a barrier. That’s why it's good for diaper rash. Maybe it's the magical combination of ingredients, or most
likely it's because I make it so concentrated. If people make a salve for commercial reasons, they don't use as much of the herbs so they can minimize costs and maximize profit. I always make it really really really potent, with the active herbal ingredients. I’ve seen her make it, and it is super concentrated. A tiny amount goes a really long way.
Additionally it's super fresh. The herbs are wild and not
burnt down to the ground. The Matico for example is hand harvested and the juices of the plant are still in tact from using a dehydrator in Ecuador. Then she put them in the shops, and the magic started happening.
Jennifer from customer service once again just made this batch of Angela’s Salve for us. It’s a pretty big job to make 500 jars, and she did such a great job once again. If you feel like supporting Jennifer, she gets paid for
every jar that she makes as I shared the last time.
So, we just got this fresh batch that just came in of these 4oz jars of Angela’s Salve, which is a nice size of healing goodness for the skin.
