Hey Everyone!
We’ve
extended the sale on our New Superfood Aguaje, along with a good handful of other January specials through the end of February.
I’ve been getting lots of questions from men asking if the Aguaje is good for a man to take. For example, would it help men’s eyes?
The answer is absolutely yes. It’s just a Peruvian fruit, and it would be great for
anyone to take. It is so high in carotenoids including beta carotene and lutein that it would be really good for your eyes.
In fact, as seen in the study here, Aguaje has been reported as the richest source of carotenoids found in Brazil. Furthermore, the study states that the values of
lutein in Aguaje are higher than in vegetables considered rich in lutein.
Aguaje is actually loaded with a ridiculous amount of both nutritional and bioactive compounds, many of which you wouldn’t see in a typical fruit.
For example, as seen in the clinical study here, ”Buriti (Aguaje) is rich in threonine, leucine, and tryptophan. Tryptophan, a precursor of serotonin which is involved in the modulation and regulation of anxiety and mood, is not usually found in foods. Tryptophan is also a precursor of compounds associated with sleep regulation and stress reduction, such as nicotinamide (vitamin B6), tryptamine, melatonin, kynurenine, xanthurenic, and quinolinic acids.”
Aguaje’s Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory
effects are through the roof.
Traditionally Aguaje is recognized in South America for its medicinal properties, particularly for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. In the clinical study here, they isolated three triterpenoid compounds believed to produce these effects. These triterpenoid compounds
significantly inhibit the activation of NF-κB and of Nitric Oxide, both of which are key processes in inflammation.
Additionally, these triterpenoid compounds demonstrated potent antioxidant properties by activating the antioxidant enzyme Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and the transcription factor Nrf2, thus showing its potential in combating oxidative stress. The study concluded that Aguaje could be a promising candidate for the
development of safer and more effective therapies for inflammatory and oxidative stress-related diseases.
These Pentacyclic triterpenoids are simply more bioactive compounds that you normally wouldn’t see in a fruit. They are generally in Mushrooms and some other plants. These Pentacyclic triterpenoids are also known for many other medicinal properties, including Anti-viral, Anti-cancer, Anti-oxidation, Reducing blood glucose, Protecting the liver,
Anti-fatigue, and so much more.
Aguaje is also incredible for your skin.
In the clinical study here, they compared all the nutritional details of some of the top bioactive fruits in South America. These fruits included Aguaje, Acai, Patawa, juçara, buritirana, and butiá.
The highest
concentration of tocopherols was observed for Aguaje (Buriti). It was also loaded with more fatty acids, including oleic, palmitic, linoleic, stearic, and linolenic. The Aguaje pulp also showed a high level of Selenium, and Chromium.
All of these components heavily nourish the skin.
Aguaje is also loaded with phytosterols, the main phytosterol present was β-sitosterol. β-sitosterol
decreases blood cholesterol levels in hyper- and normo-cholesterolemic individuals. The fatty acids are also associated with the reduction of cholesterol.
Aguaje is also loaded in phenolic compounds and flavonoids. Aguaje’s main phenolic compounds are rutin, catechin, epicatechin, and luteolin. Other phenolic compounds and flavonoids include quercetin, eugenol, vanillin, tannins protocatechuic acid, tocochromanols, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid,
orientin, ellagic acid and others.
In the study on Aguaje here, it states that the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, inflammations and aging-related disorders can also be correlated with intake of fruits which are rich in phenolic compounds and vitamins. These phenolic compounds in Aguaje also have
antimicrobial activity. Aguaje has also been reported to have Anti-diabetes, anti-cancer properties, and has a beneficial effect against many chronic and inflammatory diseases such as intestinal inflammation.
Aguaje is also osteogenic from two different angles. As seen in the clinical studies here, and here, it shows that Aguaje is very rich in Calcium and Magnesium.
As seen at the study here, the other angle that Aguaje is osteogenic is from
the plant phyto-hormones that it contains.
I know that a lot of people, especially men, have been concerned about the phytoestrogens contained in Aguaje. However, phytoestrogens are abundant in many healthy plant foods. Did you know that both resveratrol and quercetin are phytoestrogens? In fact, Phytoestrogens are found in most plant-derived foods in varying amounts. To name a few, we have apples, grapes,
pomegranates, almonds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, alfalfa sprouts, peaches, berries, cruciferous vegetables, oats, barley, fenugreek, Broccoli, cabbage, carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, spinach, quinoa, rice, sweet potatoes, and even coffee all contain phytoestrogens.
Most studies indicate that phytoestrogens benefit health. The effects of phytoestrogens are much weaker than those of estrogen. This is why women generally prefer plant
phytoestrogens over hormone therapy when handing menopause issues. It’s just an incredible way to get relief from menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep problems, mood changes, vaginal dryness, reduced sex drive, skin changes, weight issues, and bone loss. In the study here, it states that there is no strong
evidence that proves that phytoestrogens cause problems in humans (healthy men and women). Furthermore, Aguaje doesn’t even contain any isoflavones like soy does.
Anyhow, I hope that explains things a little bit more. We've extended the special on the Aguaje through the end of the month.
Normally $34.95 for a pound, we have it on sale for only $21.95 each when you get a 3-pack.
