Hey Everyone!
Are you sure
that you are getting enough Vitamin C in a day?
If you are on a Carnivore diet, or if you don’t eat many fruits and vegetables, sometimes even on a Keto diet, you may not be getting enough Vitamin C in a day.
Vitamin C is a cofactor that activates specific enzymes that strengthens collagen by adding the hydroxyl group (–OH) to its building blocks. This makes fibers
firm preventing sagging, and it connects collagen molecules into a tight, elastic net, keeping skin youthful and wrinkle-free.
As you can see in the clinical study here, higher vitamin C intake promotes collagen synthesis,
neutralizes UV-induced free radicals to protect against photoaging, promotes skin cell turnover to improve texture and reduce fine lines, inhibits tyrosinase to even skin tone, and reduces acne-related inflammation, all contributing to fewer wrinkles and enhanced skin health in women.
As you can see, it’s critically important for our health
and beauty to make sure that you are getting enough Vitamin C every single day. Vitamin C is one of those rare nutrients that the body can’t create on its own, and you have to get it from outside sources every single day.
If you are on a Carnivore diet, Keto diet, or if you are not eating enough fruits and vegetables every single day, your skin can be at risk for not
being able to strengthen and build collagen properly.
Every single day, I personally drink a glass of freshly squeezed Orange Juice or Grapefruit Juice in order to make sure that I am getting my required daily Vitamin C. I believe this is one of the reasons my skin looks so young at 50 years old.
However, I do know that many people on the keto diet and Carnivore diet might not want to take the
amount of sugar in a glass of orange juice. Furthermore, 16oz of orange juice can upset many people’s stomachs if they are not used to it.
The perfect solution is our Camu Powder and Acerola Cherry Powder.
Firstly, no other food on the planet has more Vitamin C compared to Camu Camu Powder. Following behind Camu Powder is Acerola Cherry Powder, which is also off the charts with
Vitamin C.
You literally only need 1/4 teaspoon of our Camu Powder, or our Acerola Cherry Powder every single day in order to get your daily Vitamin C requirements. However, I recommend taking 1/2 teaspoon just so we are exceeding those limits without worry. These Vitamin C Superfoods, Camu Powder and Acerola Cherry Powder, have 60 times more Vitamin C compared to an Orange.
Furthermore,
1/4 teaspoon only contains one half of a carb, and it won’t upset your stomach like 16oz of orange juice. It’s perfect for anyone who counts carbs and doesn’t want that upset stomach from orange juice.
In fact, at the study here, you can totally see that it aids a low-carb diet. 23 healthy
individuals found that camu camu minimized blood sugar spikes after a high-carbohydrate meal. This suggests potential benefits for glucose homeostasis, likely due to polyphenols and vitamin C enhancing insulin sensitivity or slowing glucose absorption.
Therefore, it won't cause blood sugar spikes, but do the opposite.
I personally would never take a typical Vitamin C supplement.
If you are taking a typical over-the-counter
Vitamin C supplement, it’s probably high in ascorbic acid and you are not getting the entire vitamin C complex in its natural form.
If you take too much ascorbic acid on its own, it can burn out your adrenals. Let me explain why.
The entire Vitamin C complex is not just ascorbic acid, which most Vitamin C supplements consist of. The entire Vitamin C complex contains bioflavonoids (Vitamin
P), which is the factor that supports the connective tissue around the arteries and the veins. It also contains Vitamin J, the “Anti-Pneumonia” Vitamin, which helps your lungs increase oxygen, making it easier for you to climb up stairs without getting out of breath so easily.
The Vitamin C full complex also comes with a Copper component inside of it in an enzyme form called
Tyrosinase, which is there as a precursor to help build the adrenal hormones. The reservoir of vitamin C in the body is held by the adrenals, and there is a chance we can burn the adrenals out by taking too much ascorbic acid without taking it with the full Vitamin C complex. When you take Camu Powder and Acerola Cherry Powder, you don’t have to worry about this
problem.
The last component of the Full Natural Vitamin C complex is Vitamin K, which has to do with clotting factors. You may get bruising if you don’t have enough of this component.
What’s even more crazy, is that the ascorbic acid found in over abundance in many supplements on the market isn’t even the active ingredient in Vitamin C. Its purpose is to simply protect the other components of the
Vitamin C complex mentioned above.
What I absolutely love about Superfoods in general is that you get super potent nutrition in their perfectly ripe state. In Camu and Acerola Cherry, you get all of these beneficial components of Vitamin C above, because you are taking it in a Whole Food Superfood form.
The beauty of taking nutrient dense Superfoods like this is, not only do you get nutrients in
their full all-natural complex, but these nutrient dense Superfoods also contain other magical bio-active compounds, which have healing benefits to the human body. For example, Camu and Acerola Cherry are also packed with antioxidants like polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and ellagic acid, which combat free radicals, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease.
As seen at the study here, 20 male smokers consumed Camu daily while the placebo group took Vitamin C tablets. Compared to a vitamin C tablet, camu significantly reduced oxidative stress and inflammatory markers (e.g., C-reactive protein, IL-6). This suggests synergistic effects of camu camu’s antioxidants (polyphenols,
anthocyanins) beyond vitamin C alone.
These endless magical components contained within these potent nutrient dense Superfoods provide so many other benefits to the human body on top of nutrition.
For example, Camu Powder has been shown to help lower Blood Pressure in two different clinical studies.
One of the best ways to help your blood pressure is obviously to improve your diet. That works the
majority of the time, and that is my number one recommendation. However, it's great to have a food that can also help lower blood pressure.
At the clinical study on Camu here, it suggests that camu camu promotes blood vessel dilation, potentially reducing blood pressure. This effect is attributed to
polyphenols (e.g., ellagic acid) and antioxidants improving endothelial function.
Many people are going to love these next two studies!
At the clinical study here, camu camu extract given to high-fat/high-sucrose-fed mice reduced weight gain by 50%, improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity,
decreased fat accumulation and fatty liver, lowered inflammation and endotoxins, and improved gut microbiota.
At the study here, 30 overweight or obese adults with high triglycerides who consumed 1.5 g of camu camu extract daily experienced a 7.43% reduction in liver fat, lower liver injury markers, and beneficial gut microbiota changes compared to
an 8.42% liver fat increase with placebo.
Camu is also anti-microbial. At the study here, Camu Camu reduced bacterial growth of E coli and Streptococcus mutans, suggesting antimicrobial properties. This could theoretically help reduce acne-causing bacteria further promoting its skin benefits, though not directly
tested.
It’s always good to switch up different Superfoods in order to get a wide variety of nutrients and benefits. For example, Acerola Cherry is secondary in Vitamin C to Camu, but Acerola is loaded with antioxidants, and has higher B vitamins (thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate) and more vitamin A (as beta-carotene). Camu has higher Vitamin C, and more amino acids (serine, leucine, valine).
As usual,
both the Camu Powder and Acerola Cherry Powder are single ingredients, with nothing else added.
We've got the Camu Powder for only $10.95 each when you get a 3-pack, and the Acerola Cherry Powder is only $11.95 each when you get a 3-pack.
