Hey Everyone,
Lately we’ve been going into
great depth about a few Superfoods that are incredible at balancing our hormones.
These three hormone balancing Superfoods include: Gelatinized Maca, Broccoli Juice Powder, and our Aguaje, which are all on special for the rest of this month.
Let’s discuss all of the details on how these 3 Superfoods balance our hormones extraordinarily well.
In both men and women, excess estrogen is one of
the main causes of hormonal mayhem.
When estrogen is first naturally created in the body, it’s not a problem. After estrogen is produced, it binds to estrogen receptors in various tissues to exert its biological effects. Afterwards, the estrogen goes to the liver and gets transformed into various metabolites, making it easier to eliminate from the body.
The two main metabolites that Estrogen is
converted to in the liver is:
2-hydroxyestrone (beneficial to the human body)
16α-hydroxyestrone (harmful to the human body)
60-70% of estrogen is converted to 2-hydroxyestrone, and 20-30% of estrogen is converted to 16α-hydroxyestrone.
After estrogen converts into these two estrogen metabolites, the 2-hydroxyestrone creates beneficial
reactions, and the 16α-hydroxyestrone causes chaos in the body. If you have excess estrogen you will create more of the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone.
16α-hydroxyestrone is a harmful estrogen metabolite that forms reactive oxygen species (ROS) and binds irreversibly to DNA, which can lead to mutations, inflammation, and an increased risk of hormone-related cancers.
Its strong estrogenic effects stimulate cell proliferation, and when produced in excess, it can promote uncontrolled cell division, tumor growth, and tumor progression, making it a significant contributor to cancer development and other estrogen-dominant conditions.
2-hydroxyestrone is generally considered protective. It has weak estrogenic activity, doesn't bind strongly to receptors, and doesn’t form
harmful DNA adducts or reactive compounds. Instead, it supports safe estrogen clearance, helps counteract stronger estrogens, and may even have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects during metabolism and elimination.
If the body produces a normal amounts of estrogen, then it's easy for the body to handle this 2:1 ratio of 2-hydroxyestrone to 16α-hydroxyestrone without a problem. However, as we age, and with the issues
in today's day and age, it's much easier to produce excess estrogen, which creates more of the harmful estrogen metabolite (16α-hydroxyestrone).
Factors that increase estrogen in both men and women include excess fat, xenoestrogens (like BPA), chronic stress, poor diet, and sedentary lifestyle, increasing the risks associated with estrogen dominance.
Aging in both men and women can
also increase estrogen levels, which increases the production of 16α-hydroxyestrone. In women, this is particularly evident during perimenopause and menopause, when reduced liver function, changes in hormone production, and decreased detoxification capacity contribute to the shift. In men, a decline in testosterone levels and increased aromatase activity convert more testosterone into estrogen, promoting
16α-hydroxyestrone.
In women, excess estrogen activity overstimulates tissues, causes fluid retention, and disrupts normal hormonal signaling, causing bloating, headaches/migraines, weight gain, especially around hips/thighs, fatigue, mood swings, irritability, anxiety, depression, breast tenderness and swelling, painful periods, and increased PMS symptoms.
In men, excess estrogen, which includes excess 16α-hydroxyestrone, can
affect the balance between estrogen and testosterone, leading to reduced libido, sexual dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, especially in the chest or abdominal area, mood swings, irritability, fatigue, and development of breast tissue.
This is where our Aguaje, Broccoli Juice Powder, and Gelatinized Maca comes into play!
Aguaje is rich in phytoestrogens
that bind to estrogen receptors with lower potency—similar to the mild, protective effects of 2-hydroxyestrone—as opposed to the stronger, more harmful metabolite 16α-hydroxyestrone. By mimicking 2-hydroxyestrone, Aguaje competes at the receptor with 16α-hydroxyestrone, thereby reducing estrogen overstimulation and its disruptive effects on
the body. In essence, taking Aguaje is like boosting your body’s levels of the gentler, protective form of estrogen 2-hydroxyestrone.
Our truly raw Broccoli Juice Powder has way more I3C (indole-3-carbinol) compared to any other food on the planet. What’s crazy is that the I3C (indole-3-carbinol)in our broccoli juice powder magically converts into DIM in our
acidic stomach.
The DIM works by activating specific enzymes in the liver, which promotes the conversion of estrogen into beneficial 2-hydroxyestrone estrogen metabolite versus the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone metabolite. On top of that, the DIM also inhibits the enzyme, which would
otherwise favor the production of 16α-hydroxyestrone.
Therefore, our broccoli juice powder will favor the beneficial conversion of estrogen to 2-hydroxyestrone like wild fire, making less of the damaging 16α-hydroxyestrone compounds. If taken consistently, it can alter the conversions of estrogen from a 2:1 beneficial to harmful
ratio, all the way to an estimated 6:1 beneficial to harmful ratio.
The result is a significant drop in estrogens damaging effects, while at the same time promoting its beneficial effects.
So, the broccoli juice powder makes it so more estrogen is converted into 2-hydroxyestrone versus the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone, and
aguaje just throws in more Phytoestrogens soldiers that mimic 2-hydroxyestrone competing at estrogen receptors with the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone that are still present making the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone less active.
The two together are the most powerful natural combination one can use in order to balance our hormone system.
Add Gelatinized
Maca into the mix, and you get the full package!
Gelatinized Maca is an adaptogen, which means it doesn’t push your hormones in one fixed direction—it helps restore balance based on what your body needs. If you’re producing too little estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or cortisol, it supports healthy increases. If you’re producing too much, it helps bring levels back
down. It works through the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal)axis to modulate stress and hormonal signals. It’s a natural hormone balancer that fine-tunes your system whether you're high, low, or just out of sync.
So, to sum it all up, in the liver, Broccoli Juice Powder miraculously helps shift estrogen metabolism towards making more of the beneficial protective
2-hydroxyestrone and away from making the harmful 16α-hydroxyestrone. Aguaje then steps in at the receptor level, competing with 16α-hydroxyestrone to block its chaotic effects—while mimicking the gentle action of 2-hydroxyestrone. Add Gelatinized Maca into the mix, and you get the full package: maca supports the brain’s hormonal command centers (the hypothalamus and pituitary),
helping your body produce just the right amount of hormones—nothing too high, nothing too low.
This is hormonal balance on three levels: Production (Maca) → Metabolism (Broccoli) → Receptor Protection (Aguaje).
It’s a complete circuit of hormonal harmony, working from top to bottom—brain, liver, and cells—so your body stays resilient, steady, and in
control.
What’s equally remarkable is that this trio doesn’t just help with excess estrogen—they’re also incredibly helpful when estrogen is too low, which often happens during menopause or due to aging, stress, or over-exercising. Aguaje naturally contains phytoestrogens that can bind to estrogen receptors and fill the gap when your body’s own estrogen is lacking. Meanwhile, Broccoli Juice Powder continues to
shine even in menopause, where its natural DIM content gently mimics estrogen’s effects to ease symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings. And when you add Gelatinized Maca to the mix, you complete the hormonal balancing circuit—it adapts to your body’s needs, helping increase estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone if they’re too low, or bringing them down if they’re too high. Together, these three work
synergistically—whether your hormones are in overdrive or underactive—restoring balance from every angle.
All three of these superfoods—Aguaje, Broccoli Juice Powder, and Gelatinized Maca—can support men as well, especially when hormonal imbalances are driven by aging, excess body fat, or exposure to estrogen-like chemicals such as BPA. Aguaje’s phytoestrogens work more subtly in men due to fewer estrogen
receptors, but can still help offset the effects of elevated estrogen. Broccoli Juice Powder supports estrogen metabolism in the liver by promoting healthier estrogen pathways—like favoring 2-hydroxyestrone over more harmful metabolites—thanks to compounds like DIM. Meanwhile, Gelatinized Maca adapts to the body's needs, helping balance testosterone and other key hormones, whether they’re too high or too low.
So what we have here today
are the top 3 most effective superfoods in the world for balancing hormones in both men and women. Together, they offer a powerful, natural way to support hormonal harmony at every stage of life. Whether you're dealing with too much, too little, or just feeling off, this trio helps bring your system back into balance—gently, intelligently, and effectively.
