Hey Everyone!
When it comes to Saw
Palmetto, I usually talk about its benefits for hair loss - which we’ll cover again today, including how it also helps with women’s hair loss. But I also want to highlight three other key benefits: 1) supporting prostate health, 2) reducing overactive bladder and urinary discomfort in both men and women, and 3) lowering estrogen activity to help with hormonal imbalances in both
men and women.
As many of you know, our particular Saw Palmetto inhibits the production of DHT like nothing else out there. DHT is an extremely powerful testosterone that can cause all sorts of chaos in the body. As we've discussed many times, DHT has been shown to cause hair loss and the shrinking of hair follicles until they are completely gone.
In the prostate, DHT binds to androgen
receptors in prostate cells, stimulating gene expression that promotes cell proliferation and growth. This leads to an increase in prostate tissue size, contributing to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). On top of that, DHT also up-regulates growth factors (e.g., insulin-like growth factor) and inhibits apoptosis (cell death), further encouraging tissue expansion. Over time, this excessive growth can
compress the urethra, causing urinary symptoms like weak flow or frequent urination.
How does Saw Palmetto work?
In your body there is an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase that converts testosterone into DHT. Our Saw Palmetto is a very powerful 5-alpha-reductase enzyme inhibitor. It will help stop that conversion of testosterone to DHT from happening, thus
slowing prostate tissue growth. This mechanism helps alleviate BPH symptoms by decreasing prostate size and relieving pressure on the urethra. Furthermore, since DHT causes hair loss and the shrinking of hair follicles until they are completely gone, Saw Palmetto will help hormonally to get your hair back.
Our Saw Palmetto has got to be the most effective 5-alpha-reductase enzyme
inhibitor available. It actually has many studies on it, such as the one at the link here, showing that it inhibits this 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, and the amount required for activity is comparatively low to other popular options.
At the study review here, it demonstrates the effectiveness of saw palmetto in reducing symptoms associated with BPH, noting that it appears to have efficacy similar to medications like finasteride but is better tolerated and less expensive.
As seen in the studies [1], [2], [3], and [4],
saw palmetto has been shown to improve prostate symptoms by up to 60%, increase urinary flow by up to 50%, and reduce nighttime urination by up to 45% — offering real relief for those dealing with BPH and age-related prostate changes.
On top of all this, saw palmetto miraculously has a dual action, and is loaded with anti-inflammatory compounds—particularly fatty
acids and phytosterols (e.g.,beta-sitosterol) that may help reduce inflammation in the prostate and surrounding tissues. As seen at the study here, research indicates that saw palmetto extract can decrease levels of inflammatory cytokines in prostate tissue, contributing to symptom
relief. These anti-inflammatory actions not only benefit BPH but may also help with other inflammatory conditions, such as chronic prostatitis or general pelvic discomfort, though evidence is stronger for BPH.
For hair loss, Saw Palmetto is great for both men and women when it comes to male or female pattern hair loss, which is driven by DHT sensitivity in hair follicles. This type of hair loss in men
manifests as a receding hairline or balding crown, while in women, it typically causes diffuse thinning, particularly at the crown with prevalence increasing post-menopause (up to 40-50% by age 70 due to hormonal changes).
Clinical research indicates that saw palmetto may reduce hair fall by up to 63%, improve overall hair quality by up to 60%, increase total hair count by 27%, boost hair
density in 83% of users, and enhance hair thickness by up to 40%. These findings are supported by studies [1], [2], [3], [4], and [5].
Beyond BPH and Hair Loss, as seen at the studies [1] [2], saw palmetto may benefit general urinary tract health by relaxing bladder and urethral muscles, potentially reducing symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB) or urinary discomfort in
both men and women.
This broader urinary support is believed to come from saw palmetto’s ability to relax smooth muscles in the bladder and urethra by blocking alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, helping reduce urgency, frequency, and incomplete emptying. Additionally, by modulating hormone activity like DHT and calming inflammation in pelvic tissues as previously mentioned, saw palmetto may help ease symptoms of overactive bladder (OAB) and
lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in both men and women.
If that wasn’t all enough, as seen in the studies [1] [2], saw palmetto may help modulate hormone levels by
reducing both DHT and estrogen activity - offering valuable support for both men and women dealing with hormone-related imbalances such as hair loss, acne, mood swings, or symptoms tied to aging and menopause/andropause.
These impressive effects are believed to occur through three primary mechanisms:
1. Inhibition of Aromatase
Saw palmetto may inhibit aromatase, the enzyme that
converts testosterone into estrogen. For men, this may help maintain a healthier testosterone-to-estrogen ratio, supporting energy, mood, and prostate health. For women, particularly those dealing with estrogen dominance or perimenopausal shifts, this may help reduce bloating, breast tenderness, and hormone-driven weight gain.
2. Inhibition of Estrogen Receptor Binding
The fatty acids and phytosterols
in saw palmetto may weakly bind to estrogen receptors, acting as competitive blockers. This can reduce the overstimulation of estrogen-sensitive tissues like the prostate in men or the breasts and uterus in women - potentially easing symptoms of hormonal imbalance in both sexes.
3. Phytosterol Effects
Compounds like beta-sitosterol and other plant sterols may mimic or
block estrogen-like compounds (including environmental xenoestrogens), leading to a net reduction in estrogen signaling. This may benefit men with BPH or gynecomastia, and women experiencing hormonal acne, hair thinning, or PMS symptoms linked to excess estrogen. This mechanism is particularly relevant in conditions like BPH, where estrogen can exacerbate prostate growth in conjunction with DHT - making saw palmetto’s dual action
especially valuable.
All of these clinical studies above on saw palmetto for hair loss and prostate health use doses ranging from 160 mg to 320 mg daily - our gel cap delivers the ideal 320 mg dose, matching or exceeding the effective amounts used in research. One bag of our Saw Palmetto has 30 gel caps to last you a month.
Our Saw Palmetto is extremely
potent. It is CO2 critically extracted, so it’s extremely pure stuff. If you were to bite down on the gel cap or cut it open, you will not believe how potent and strong it is. You will probably even feel it energetically when you take it like this. There is no other Saw Palmetto like this on the market.
Be careful, because there are a lot of fake Saw Palmetto’s out there.
Real Saw Palmetto only grows in one place in the world, and ironically that is Northern Florida and Southern Georgia right near me. You can get Saw Palmetto from all over the world, but it’s not the real thing. Saw Palmetto should be dark in color. If you see anything clear on the market, like a clear oil, that’s fake, and it’s not going to address the problem in the same way. We are actually
one of the only companies that has a monograph of the Saw Palmetto, which means that it has been shown by Pharmacopeia that they have identified it as the real thing.
Whether you're dealing with hair loss, hormonal shifts, prostate concerns, or urinary discomfort - this is one of the most comprehensive, clinically backed solutions nature has to offer for both men and women.
Normally
$29.95, we have our Saw Palmetto for only $20.95 each when you get a 3-pack.
