Hey Everyone!
Aguaje is a
Peruvian fruit superfood that has been shown in studies to help shape women’s bodies, support menopause, and promote hormonal balance — all without feminizing men.
First, I’ll share studies and testimonials showing how Aguaje can beneficially shape a woman’s body and support menopause. Then, I’ll explain the mechanisms of action behind how Aguaje’s unique, gentle methoxyflavan phytoestrogens produce these effects.
Finally, I’ll cover the many other benefits this remarkable fruit provides.
As shown in the clinical studies below, Aguaje’s uniquely structured phytoestrogens, called methoxyflavans, can increase breast size in women — particularly those with lower BMI — and enhance the fullness and firmness of the thighs and buttocks. For women who already have larger breasts, the studies indicate that Aguaje won’t
further increase size, but it may help support tissue structure and reduce sagging as you age.
In the first clinical study here, researchers explain that while Aguaje has long been associated with breast enlargement, the active compounds were previously unknown.
The study
states:
“Recently, we found that methoxyflavans, including 5,4'-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methylflavan, in moriche palms (Aguaje) exhibit estrogenic activity and are involved in the breast enlargement effects of moriche palm (Aguaje).”
A follow-up clinical study from Japan here clarifies who experiences this effect — and who does not. The researchers show that Aguaje does not increase breast size in women who already have larger breasts. Instead, its role in these women is limited to supporting breast structure and helping reduce age-related sagging. (This is a PDF link. If it does not open, customer service can forward you the full 24-page study.)
The
study states:
“When BMI and breast size were analyzed, an increase in breast size was observed only in subjects with a BMI below 20 kg/m².”
A BMI of 20 kg/m² is considered a healthy but lean body weight for adults.
Researchers also measured breast height — from the ground to the nipples — to assess changes in breast position over time. They concluded:
“Eight weeks of Aguaje extract consumption enlarged breasts only
in relatively lean subjects and showed a preventive effect on breast sagging with aging.”
In simple terms, the clinical evidence shows that Aguaje-related breast enlargement occurs only in lean women and does not occur in women with higher BMI or already larger breasts. In those women, Aguaje supports breast firmness and structure rather than increasing size.
Here is a testimonial from CS on how the Aguaje helped shape her
body:
"It's only been two weeks since I've added Aguaje powder to my post-workout juice and already I'm seeing a firmer, fuller, curvier figure! I was pretty skeptical about this superfood helping me tone and gain only in desired areas thinking I would take it solely for its high Vitamin C content but now I know it really works!! I'm looking forward to the results I'll see in the coming weeks!"

What makes Aguaje truly unique is not
that it contains phytoestrogens, but which kind. Aguaje contains methoxyflavans — a rare subclass of flavan-based phytoestrogens that are structurally different from the isoflavones found in soy and other plants. Unlike soy isoflavones, which tend to block or flatten estrogen signaling in breast tissue, the methoxyflavans (with methoxy substitutions on the flavan backbone) reduce binding strength but increase
receptor residence time — meaning they stay bound to estrogen receptors longer. This allows methoxyflavans to interact gently with estrogen receptors involved in tissue development, providing a sustained, low-level signal that lets breast tissue respond gradually over time. As a result, breast tissue — particularly in lean or estrogen-deficient women — can improve collagen structure, fat distribution, and hydration without hormonal
overstimulation. These methoxyflavans have been specifically identified and studied in Aguaje (moriche palm) and are not characteristic of common dietary phytoestrogen sources, helping explain why Aguaje has a long-standing traditional association with increased fullness and firmness, while most other phytoestrogen-containing foods do not.
In short: methoxyflavans are unique because they support breast tissue responsiveness without overwhelming estrogen signaling,
allowing natural fullness and firmness to develop only where estrogen is low — not system-wide and not indiscriminately.
Why These Same Methoxyflavans Are So Supportive for Menopause & PMS
The same gentle, selective estrogenic behavior that explains Aguaje’s effects on breast and body tissue also explains why it has been traditionally used — and clinically studied — for menopause and PMS. During these phases of life, estrogen
levels are either declining, fluctuating, or insufficient, which can impact everything from mood and sleep to bone health and vaginal tissue integrity.
Aguaje’s methoxyflavans help precisely because of their structure. The name itself explains why: “flavan” refers to the flavan backbone — not an isoflavone — while “methoxy” describes specific chemical substitutions that reduce estrogen receptor binding strength. As a result,
methoxyflavans bind more weakly and selectively to estrogen receptors, providing gentle support without overstimulation or hormonal shutdown.
Because of this, Aguaje’s phytoestrogens can help support estrogen-responsive tissues when estrogen is low — including the female reproductive organs — without behaving like strong estrogen mimics. Studies and traditional use suggest this may help maintain vaginal moisture, vaginal elasticity, and vaginal
blood flow, while also supporting the overall health and function of estrogen-sensitive tissues during menopause.
A clinical study summarized here found that phytohormones in Aguaje helped improve female-specific symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency, including menopause and PMS. The researchers concluded that Aguaje’s
phytohormones may be effective in easing menopausal symptoms and also noted osteogenic effects — meaning support for bone formation, which becomes increasingly important as estrogen levels decline.
When it comes to PMS, the same study found that Aguaje supplementation significantly improved a wide range of symptoms compared to placebo. Improvements were seen not only in physical symptoms such as water retention,
headaches, cold sweats, poor coordination, and upper-body discomfort, but also in mental and emotional parameters, including anxiety, poor concentration, and feelings of suffocation.
In short, methoxyflavans don’t force estrogen activity — they support balance. Their gentle, tissue-aware signaling helps explain why Aguaje can simultaneously support menopause, ease PMS symptoms, and nourish estrogen-responsive tissues, without the risks or side
effects commonly associated with stronger phytoestrogens.
And this isn’t just theory or lab data — these benefits are something women have actually felt.
Here is a testimonial from a customer who tried Aguaje for menopause:
Cindy writes:
“I do not write companies with praise for a simple reason: I believe a business should sell products that simply do what they’re supposed to do. I expect to
receive what I pay for, and as a single, working mom, there is no spare change.
I skeptically tried your Aguaje powder because I was having up to ten hot flashes a day. I added 2 teaspoons daily to a cold-pressed juice. Within three days, my hot flashes dropped to just 3–4 per day. Now, one month into the regimen, I experience no hot flashes at all.
There is no doubt about my menopausal stage — I haven’t had a period for 18 months. I just reordered the powder at cost.
Thank you for doing the research for your customers and bringing us products that provide real relief without the harmful effects of pharmaceuticals. I would never have gone the typical gynecological route of synthetic hormones. What a gift that I didn’t have to risk my health to finally feel relief from uncomfortable symptoms.”

Beyond supporting menopause and PMS, Aguaje’s methoxyflavans also help promote hormonal balance by gently
competing at estrogen receptor sites, particularly in the presence of stronger, more disruptive estrogens such as 16-hydroxyestrone — often referred to as a “bad” estrogen due to its association with inflammatory and proliferative signaling. Unlike soy isoflavones, which either bind too aggressively or trigger receptor shutdown, methoxyflavans have a strong ability to attach to estrogen receptors, but a gentle level of activation. This
allows them to occupy the receptor without overstimulating it, helping shift estrogen signaling toward a calmer, more balanced state rather than excess or dominance.
In men, these phytoestrogens are simply not strong enough to override male hormones like testosterone — which is exactly why they don’t feminize men. Instead, they can compete at the receptor level against environmental xenoestrogens, offering a protective, balancing effect
without disrupting the male hormonal environment. This is why men in South America have traditionally consumed Aguaje daily — supporting hormonal balance and overall health without any feminizing effects.
Beyond their phytoestrogenic effects, Aguaje is a nutritional powerhouse. It contains 5–8 times the beta-carotene of carrots, making it the most concentrated natural plant source in the world. It’s also loaded with Vitamin E, Vitamin C,
protein, and a wide spectrum of minerals including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, chromium, manganese, selenium, and iodine. On top of that, Aguaje is packed with bioactive compounds you won’t find in most fruits, giving it an extraordinary nutritional profile.
In the clinical study here it highlight
the breadth of its bioactives (all broken down in a beautiful chart): carotenoids, tocopherols, ascorbic acid, phenolic compounds, fiber, phytosterols, and unsaturated fatty acids. These contribute to antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cholesterol-lowering, antimicrobial, and anti-tumor effects. Aguaje is also rich in flavonoids like quercetin and lutein — in fact, some studies like the one here, report it as the richest source of carotenoids and lutein in Brazil.
Aguaje provides unique amino acids too, including threonine, leucine, and even tryptophan, which support mood regulation, stress reduction, and sleep by serving as precursors to serotonin, melatonin, and other important
neuromodulators.
Its even got triterpenoids as seen in the study here, which are rarely found in fruits (more typical of mushrooms or medicinal plants), show powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, activating key enzymes like SOD and transcription factors like Nrf2, which help
protect against oxidative stress, inflammation, and age-related damage. These compounds also contribute additional benefits including anti-viral, anti-cancer, liver protection, anti-fatigue, and blood sugar regulation.
Aguaje also nourishes the skin, with high levels of tocopherols, fatty acids (oleic, linoleic, palmitic, stearic, linolenic), selenium, and chromium as seen in the study here, and supports cardiovascular and metabolic health through its phytosterols (mainly β-sitosterol, which can help lower blood cholesterol in both hyper- and normo-cholesterolemic individuals), phenolics, and flavonoids, including rutin, catechin, epicatechin, luteolin, quercetin, and more. The fatty acids are also associated with cholesterol
reduction. Studies have linked these compounds to anti-diabetes, anti-cancer, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as support for bone formation (osteogenic effects study here) via its plant phyto-hormones.
All of these nutritional and bioactive compounds work together with Aguaje’s methoxyflavans
to create a truly unique effect: supporting natural breast fullness, firming and shaping the thighs and buttocks, and helping estrogen-responsive tissues function optimally during menopause — all while gently promoting hormonal balance. In other words, Aguaje doesn’t just nourish your body from the inside — it helps women maintain a curvier, firmer, and more youthful silhouette while supporting overall hormonal and tissue health.
